Benllech suffer successive defeats at the hands of high flying Airbus
Airbus Ladies ran riot at Benllech as they ran away 15-0 winners in a windy affair.
The terrific trio of Hyndman, Knox and Scammell produced fine performances amongst a brilliant team effort with all three coming away with hatricks.
Smith replaced Friend in goal, Prytherch replaced Borley upfront and Dolman replaced the absent Parry, dropping into the back three with Scammell pushing up in to midfield. The home side played with confidence and assurance throughout the ninety minutes and were single-minded in wanting to come away with all three points. Within the first few minutes they had taken the lead. Knox started the scoring with a simple tap in after good play from Hyndman down the left wing.
From that point onwards the Wingmakers made it look effortless. The away side never gave up and continued to fight for every ball but were just no match for the skill of Airbus.
Hyndman was next to score, driving in from the left and looping a shot into the far corner, a cross it may have been but an excellent goal nonetheless.
Airbus then scored a barrage of goals in quick succession. Dolman and Prytherch linked up well on the right wing and were causing Benllech all sorts of problems. Prytherch had more time than she thought on a couple of occasions, after rushing a few shots, but was another to add to the score line before half time.
Hyndman had her hatrick wrapped up before the first 45 was even over. Calmness personified she completed the trio with assertion, striking the ball firmly into the back of the net.
It was 8 nil by half time with the home side in complete control of the game. Arrowsmith was happy with the way the team were playing and made just one change with Smith coming outfield and Thornton offering to go in goal. Borley and Twohig remained on the bench as the second half began.
Knox was next to complete her hatrick with a smart turn and a low drilled shot. The Wingmakers were opening up the away side with ease switching play from one wing to the next with Dolman and Hyndman causing continuous problems
with probing crosses. One was only half cleared and Williams was quick to latch on to it to get her first.
The second half was dominated by Airbus but Benllech remained resolute and had a couple of chances. Miles committed a foul in what appeared to be the penalty area but the referee gave a free kick just outside the area, Benllech could only hit the wall with the set piece.
It was a disciplined performance from the home side as they got their fourth clean sheet of the season as well as ensuring their goal difference was even stronger.
